First annual family day at Womenís Environmental Institute Oct. 16

Come and enjoy Family Day at the Womenís Environmental Institute (WEI) on Amador Hill Saturday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
WEI is located at 15715 River Road just north of Almelund, on the edge of the Wild River State Park.

Visit the new WEI community facility. Learn about childrenís environmental issues. The day includes a presentation on Kids For Saving Earth
(10 a.m. - noon), workshops, videos, and guided nature walks for kids and family throughout the day, tractor wagon rides, snake lecture and Prairie School in the Wild River State Park, apple harvesting and harvest delights, including marathon apple pie baking and a picnic lunch catered by the Wild River Goose Restaurant (Taylors Falls).

Starting at noon, picnic food will be provided while it lasts: apple sausages, hot German potato salad, vegetable soup, squash soup, freshly baked bread, and fresh apple pie. Everyone is welcome. This event is partially supported by a grant from United Way.

Sorry, we cannot accommodate the family pets on the orchard. Kids must be accompanied by adults.
