The Rush City Garden Club invites you to its Oct. 21 meeting on ìGardening with Daylilies.îİ
The featured speaker will be Kris Henning, owner of Spirit Lake Daylilies, a mail order source for daylilies.İHenning has been a Master Gardener for 12 years, in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.İIn addition, she has served on the board of the Hemerocallis Society andİthe State Advisory Board of Master Gardeners, is a past employee of the Minnesota Horticulture Society, and has been asked to speak to many areaİgroups aboutİdaylilies.
Henning will talk about the planting, dividing and care of daylilies and how toİuse daylilies as a focal point in your garden; and will show slides of the different varieties ofİday-lilies available to gardenersİin our growing zone.
The program will start at 9 a.m., at the Rushseba Town Hall justİnorth of Rush City on Forest Blvd. (near the airport).
The club would also like to thank everyone who supported Octoberfest in Rush City this year.İProceeds from the sale of plants at the clubís Spring Plant Sale and from Octoberfest go to support the many programs, like the daylily program, that the club offers to the public, toward the care and maintenance of Rush Cityís perennial gardens and for its scholarship program at Rush City High School.İIn addition, the Club participates in the Adopt-A-Highway program in Rush City.İIf you would like to be a member of the club,İattendİthe next meeting for more details.İ İ
