Astrid Nowling

Astrid Nowling, formerly of Brook Park, died on Oct. 18, 2004 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Rush City, Minnesota. She was 93 years old.

Astrid was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on April 5, 1911 to John and Clara (Hansen) Dalsveen. In 1917 her family moved to Dairyland, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Roy Nowling in 1930. They farmed and raised their family in the Brook Park area until the mid 1970ís. Astrid loved flowers and gardening. After her husbandís death in 1982 she moved to Rush City, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy in 1982, and one son Roy.

She is survived her children Melvin and wife Sharon of Brook Park, John and wife Ardis of Palisade, Minn., Ronald of Denver, Colo.; Marilyn Nelson of Rush City, and Carolyn Bell also of Rush City; 20 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; one brother Edward Dalsveen and wife Mary of Siren, Wisc.; one sister Yerdis Holland of Eden Prairie, Minn., plus nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 22nd at Akkerman-Ingebrand Chapel in Mora. Rev. Harry Nelson officiated. Music was provided by Chuck Humphrey and Jacki Peterson. Pallbearers were Rodney Bell, Mike Nowling, Mark Nowling, Dan Nowling, Dan Baran and Chris Baran. Interment was at Brook Park Cemetery in Brook Park, Minnesota.

Arrangements were handled by Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.
