A memorial service for former North Branch mayor John Pinsonneault was held at the high school Sunday night.
Pinsonneault was killed in Iraq Oct. 14 while working as a team leader for a private security company.
At the service, Pinsonneault was lauded as a hero, teacher and example of upstanding and patriotic citizen.
Speakers included friend Pam Watters who shared Pinsonneaultís last e-mail to her, his daughter Ashley, who shared a poem about her dad, his three step-children, Tessa, Missy and Jake Kosky, a hockey mom, two football players and members of the girls softball team. The high school choir sang ìMansions of the Lord.î A very emotional moment was shared by a fellow Marine who noted that Pinsonneault was a leader from day one.
Pastor Justin Lefto said Pinsonneaultís death was a tragic end to a great life. A special agent from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security said Pinsonneault could be counted on 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
