Volleyball Tigers go 1-2 for the week

The Rush City Tigers sandwiched 1 win between two losses last week.

On Sept. 23 the Tigers lost 2-3 to Isle, self-destructing after taking a 1-3 lead. The Tigers lost the first match but stormed back to take the next two games. Then it was Isleís turn to make a comeback, winning matches 4 and 5.
Standouts were Tasha Truskolaski, with 4 aces, 8 kills and was 17 of 18 serving, and Holly Grimes, who was 24 of 26 serving, and 17 of 18 passing with 2 kills.

On Sept. 28 the Tigers shut out Pine City, winning 3-0 in matches of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-23.
Shannon Grimes was 9 for 12 serving with 1 ace and 8 kills. Breann Stottler, playing through a sore back, had 5 aces and 2 kills with a strong setting performance.

On Sept. 30 the Tigers hung tough against Ogilvie, making a strong comeback after dropping games 1 and 2. They won game 3 and were narrowly defeated in game 4, 25-23.

Juniors Bobbi Cort and Gillian Calander came up big for the Tigers. Cort was 8 of 9 serving with 1 ace, 7 kills and 12 of 13 passing. Calander was 8 of 8 passing with strong defense.
