To the editor:
While there are those who continue to bemoan an apparent lack of jobs, nothing could be further from the truth in Minnesota, and especially here in Chisago County. Under the leadership of the Republican Party, the state enjoys an unemployment rate of 4.2, well below the national average.
Much more importantly, thanks to Rep. Pete Nelsonís passion for his constituency, the county has seen a marked increase in the number of quality employment opportunities.
Just since January, Polaris and Andersen Window have decided to open new facilities right here, an event that will result in upwards of 500 new local jobs.
The number of people working in Minnesota is an an all-time high, despite a ědot-comî bust, and a horrendous attack on our country and our economy. For the answer to why this is so, one need look no further than our own Pete Nelson and the Republican Party.
This November the choice is simple. We can return a proven asset to the House of Representatives, or send an untested rookie with no record of success and indeed not even a great deal of life experience.
Given Nelsonís track record of helping Taylors Falls, North Branch, and attracting new jobs to the area, could the choice be any clearer?
