To the editor:
Mr. Pete Nelson: You stated emphatically last week that ìto question our leadership ... is wrong.î
I thought that this was still a free country. I thought that we held free elections in this country. I thought that everyone had the right to question leadership - especially when they thought that ìleadershipî was not the best they could get.
Your perception that the economy is improving sure doesnít take into account the ìleadershipî that was running this country during these last 4 years of recession.
You say ìwe may return to budget surpluses in the near future.î Why then, in Minnesota, do we face another $1 billion shortfall next year. Whose ìleadershipî gave us the biggest national deficits with the biggest spending spree in history?
It is my American right to question that kind of ìleadership.î I will use that right come election time to vote for your democratic opponent, Jeremy Kalin, because I truly disagree with ìyourî leadership.
