Gail E. Swanson

Gail Elizabeth Swanson (Ebert), 84, of North Branch, Minn., went to be with Jesus on March 22, 2005 having passed away at her home.

She was born on June 14, 1920 in Rush City, Minn. to Paul and Minnie Ebert (Anderson). She married Elmer S. Swanson on May 1, 1940 in Pine City, Minn. and they resided in North Branch on the family farm raising dairy cattle, other farm animals and crops. In later years they truck gardened, selling vegetables from the Twin Cities to Duluth.

Gail also worked as a home health aide for many years and as a teacherís assistant in the North Branch School system through the Green Thumb program.
Gardening, canning vegetables, baking and sewing were some of her passions. She enjoyed making many delicious cookies and cakes that her family and friends enjoyed along with making her own jams and jellies.

Her husband, Elmer, preceded her in death in 1979. Children Sandra Lemke of Fridley, Alene Cramblit of North Branch, John Swanson of North Branch, Gerald Swanson of Pine City, Joanne Noot of North Branch, Lael Sandahl of Yuma, Ariz. James Swanson of Stacy, and Joel Swanson of St. Stephens survive her. She also has 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 2005 at the North Branch United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Kneen officiating. Pallbearers were Terry Lemke, Ernie Cramblit, Russell Cramblit, Keith Cramblit, Kevin Cramblit, Matthew Swanson, Derek Noot, Benjamin Sandahl and Bobby Swanson. The pianist was Tracee Sandahl playing ìHow Great Thou Art.î and ìAmazing Grace.î The usher was Janet Anderson. Arrangements were made by Grandstrand Funeral Home of North Branch, with burial in Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis
