Gladys L. Johnson

Gladys L. Johnson, age 89, of Rush City, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Hillcrest Health «are Center, Rush City.

Funeral services for Gladys were held Tuesday, April 5, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rush City with Reverend Laurie OíShea officiating. Music was provided by Jan Goebel as soloist and Pastor OíShea as pianist. Interment was in the Crystal Lake Cemetery in North Minneapolis.

Casketbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Matthew Robinson, Ben Robinson, Peter Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Wayne Kline, and Eric Rohlf.

Gladys Lucille Johnson was born April 15, 1915 in Kimball, Minn. to Harry and Mae (Lenox) Van Vleet. She married Harold G. Johnson and they settled their home in south Minneapolis, living there for 60 years.

She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and Ladies of the Nile. She enjoyed polka dancing, conversation, and the association of friends and relatives.

She moved to Rush City several years ago, living at Rush Oaks and then because of ill health, moved to the Hillcrest Health Care Center where she died.
She is survived by daughters; Beverly Mitchell of Irving, Texas, Donna (Bill) Robinson of Deephaven, Minn., daughter-in-law; Connie Johnson-Kennon of Rush City, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

She is also survived by two brothers; Harold ìBudî Van Vleet of Kimball and Elwood Van Vleet of Brooklyn Park. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, a son Tom Johnson, four brothers, and one sister.
