The Rush City boys placed first and the girls second in each of their first two meets of the spring Apr. 4 and 7, giving Coach Mike Vaughn a pleasant surprise as the season gets underway.
The boys tied Aitkin for first place at the Great River Conference Indoor Meet on Apr. 4 and placed first overall at the Ogilvie meet on Apr. 7. The girls finished a distant second to Mille Lacs at both meets.
"Our team is looking stronger than I thought this early in the season," said Coach Mike Vaughn. Vaughn attributed the team's success in part to numbers; the Tigers have at least two athletes in every event.
