Thereís a proud group of women from North Branch and Rush City who are beaming with pride as they have just been featured in the April issue of Womenís Business Minnesota, a product of Decker Publications.

The story, written by Pamela Lund, is about the Women of Wall Street (WOWS) investment club.

The club, now in its third reorganization, has been investing in the stock market for almost 21 years.

The article, simply titled ìWomen of Wall Stî talks about how former ECM Post Review editor Twyla Ring led the momentum to start the club after she attended a seminar in the 1980s about women's investment clubs.

It goes on to talk about how the club grew and how the women have worked together in stock market investments over the years. And tells of their successes, too.

The story talks about changing membership and ends noting that WOWS is ìproud to have passed on its investing enthusiasm to the next generation.î

The women interviewed stated that at first they were in the club for education, that they learned a lot, but now they like making money. The group continues to meet on a monthly basis.

Present members of WOWS include Karen Mittelstaedt, a North Branch school teacher; Joanne Ploetz, president of Lofgren Trucking in Rush City; Kathy McDonald, McDonald Distributing Anheuser-Busch Rush City; Bev Hurley; Vivian Pasche, Rush City special education teacher; Mary Lewis; Jan Nault; Linda Tripp, Rush City school teacher; and Dianne Klund, North Branch Golf Course club house manager.

If interested in the clubís concept, give one of the members a call.
