TO THE EDITOR:

I am outraged on so many levels about your story in yesterdayís paper ìForest Lake Man Charged in Assault on Teenagerî that I donít even know where to begin.

Letís talk about responsibility. Assuming that the victim was in fact 13 (and this is not a typographical error), is this child still in the motherís custody? Did Henning contact Child Services? Has the mother been arrested for child endangerment, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, negligence, or any other charge remotely connected to the unbelievable fact that a mother would actually bring a child into a bar, allow her to be served alcohol and let that child leave with a total stranger?

What about the barís responsibility? Is the idiot bartender who served this child drinks still employed? Has the bar been closed pending criminal investigation? Does the bar (which has been kept anonymous) deserve more protection than this young girl (younger still, particularly since it is given to believe she was mentally handicapped)?

Was Ramberg not charged with statutory rape? Since when is sex with a 13 year old, consensual or not, not a crime other than assault? What was the judge thinking when he released this sexual predator on bail?

Last, but certainly not least, letís talk about the Post Reviewís responsibility. This is shoddy journalism at best. The newspaper has an obligation to report all of the facts. Did the reporter or the editor question or investigate any of the above issues? If yes, why was that not reported? If not, are they still employed by the Post Review?
