Sons of Norway, Vennelag 546 wishes everyone a Gladelig Jul og et Godt Nytt ‰r (a Merry Christmas and a Good New Year). Their Julefest (Christmas Party) will be on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the Lindstrom Community Center, starting with a Julebord (Christmas potluck smorgasbord) at 6:30 p.m.

Bring a dish to share at the Julebord. Use your Norwegian talents to make one or more of these Norwegian delicacies: r¯mmegraut, lefse, krumkake, rice pudding, or pepperkake, Norwegian sild (herring) is also a welcome delicacy. Hot dishes are also appropriate. Plates, utensils and beverages will be provided.

Give a Christmas look to the food you bring. Enjoy the good holiday foods of your fellow lodge members at this festive time of the year. This is the last Vennelag meeting of 2005. There will be no Vennelag meetings in January and February.

Their Julefest is also expecting a visit from the Julenisse, that elusive Norwegian Christmas elf. Theyíll also have a Christmas sing-along around the Juletre (Christmas tree).

Bring a friend or neighbor with you to enjoy some Norwegian fun for the holiday season. Remember that itís more fun to be a Norwegian.
