NBHS head girls basketball coach Dan Schindler, left, surprised middle school girls coach John Forstrom with a plaque honoring his 30-plus years of service to the basketball program last Thursday at halftime of the North Branch-Chisago Lakes 7th grade game. ìWe have success in our program because of the 7th and 8th grade programs that John runs,î Schindler said. Forsman, who coached his first game for North Branch is 1974, is retiring at the end of the season. He has coached both boysí and girlsí middle school ball through the years. Many of his former players attended the ceremony.
