Hunters Tire and Auto Repair is only two months old on paper, but it has been an idea for much longer, according to owner Pat Hunter, 37, of North Branch.

ìItís been in the works for over two years,î said Hunter, who has been able to focus on opening the shop on a more full time basis since getting laid off from Ikon last spring. Now that it is open, Hunter is confident he is filling a void in the Harris area. ìIt is something that has been needed up here for awhile,î he said.

Hunters Tire and Auto Repair offers brand name tires like BF Goodrich and Michelin, as well as some lesser known brands.
Donít need tires right now? Hunters also offers a full array of automotive services, from fluid changes, batteries, and alignments, to engine and transmission swaps.

In order to keep up with the expected work-load, Hunters has three work bays and two hydraulic lifts. Charles Kolad is Hunterís head mechanic, and is ASC certified. Hunters is a NAPA center, which means customers will get NAPA parts and a NAPA warranty on those parts.

Hunters is currently open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. However, Hunter will likely discontinue the Sunday hours in the very near future and pick them up again in March, when the weather warms up and thoughts turn to vehicle maintenance.
