Response to Tepoorten column

TO THE EDITOR:

In answer to Pat Tepoorten, Staff Notes, Nov. 30, I find it hard to believe that there is anyone in the state of Minnesota who believes Bush and this administration did not lie to us and to the Congress. 60 percent of the country also thinks so.

We do not need anyone to tell us that they did. If you can read and hear the TV you can figure it out for yourself. In all the commissions appointed by the President and the Republican Congress, no one has been authorised to find out who did what and when. The President and the V.P. keep saying the Congress read the same dataÝthey did, yes, after the White House screened it.

This guy lied from day one, from his service in the National Guard. (How do you lose all records, including pay records?), and remember the Prescription Drugs Bill? The Administration told Congress it would only cost 350 Billion. After they voted the guy who crunched the numbers said it was really 500 and some billion, but he was threatened with loss of his job if he told the truth before the vote.
He keeps saying, ìwe do not do torture,î then says he will veto the Bill if the Congress takes the provision that allows the CIA to torture, out of the Bill.

Remember the memo to Tony Blair that said they juiced up the intelligence so they could go to war?

I have not heard one Republican Congressman from the State of Minnesota say that this Administration does not lie. This is probably the most corrupt administration since the T Pot Dome scandal. They lie, they out a CIA agent, and then question other peoples patriotism. Oh yeah, they wear that flag in their lapel, but you can bet none of them ever smelled gun powder, or put their children in harms way.

By the way, where is ìKenny Boy,î Ken Lay, why isnít he is jail? Itís been years since he stole the millions out of Enron.

No Patrick, you would have to go down to Crawford, Texas, to find people who would say Bush doesnít lie, and you might even have trouble there.
