Tigers take third at home meet

Rush City ignited its season on Saturday, Dec. 3 with a third place finish in its eight-team home tournament.
Braham and Luck, Wis. out-grappled the Tigers for first and second place.

Matt Wuorinen went undefeated and won the 130 lb. class. Jake Welna, Adam Morris, Adam Best and Luke Carlson were runners-up in their weights.

Richard Marohn and James Fleming did not compete.

Team results: 1. Braham (208.5); 2. Luck, Wis. (171); 3. Rush City (165); 4. Mille Lacs 158.5; 5. Ogilvie 127; 6. St. Paul Johnson (117); 7. Brooklyn Center (103); 8. Crosby Ironton (102).

112 lbs: Tommy Fleming, 6.

Coach Tim Bowland was pleased with the seasonís inaugural effort, but said his squad needs to learn how to finish.

ìI was very pleased for the first competition of the year. We were in either first or second all day and just couldnít finish at the end. Put [Marohn and James Fleming] in the line up and the scores are going to be a little
different. But all in all, a pretty good effort to start out.î
