State-ranked Hinckley-Finlayson had no trouble notching their 14th win of the season on Jan. 28, defeating Rush City 58-82.
The loss gives the Tigers a 1-5 conference record and 2-10 overall. Hinckley-Finlayson (6-1, 13-2) was ranked 9th in the state in the poll released Jan. 28.
The Jaguars were nearly impossible to defend, shooting 30 of 56 field goals on the night. Rush City also attempted 56 field goals, but converted on only 18.
The Tigers were able to muster only 7 points in the opening frame, and trailed 25-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Jaguarsí lead went to 23-49 by halftime.
John Kirchberg came off the bench to make a strong showing for the Tigers, scoring 9 points and bringing down 9 rebounds.
Tony Webb led the team in scoring with 15 points. Jerred Nelson and Jacob Bosman each contributed 9 and Zach Beck added 8. Bosman also pulled down 5 rebounds.
