Deadline for YSB nominations nears

Make sure to get nomination forms in by Feb.15, to recognize that special someone in your community that does outstanding work for youth.

The Youth Service Bureau (YSB) board of directors is seeking candidates for the annual YSB service to youth awards. The awards are given in the following categories:
ìOn Behalf of Youth Awardî honors individuals who provide excellent services or activities for youth. This award will be given to one adult and one youth.

ìJames Trudeau Awardî honors a licensed police officer for service or activities related to youth.
Deadline to submit a nomination is Tuesday, Feb.15. Nominations may be made by any area resident (not family members) or any area civic or service group. Nominees must live or work in the communities that make up the YSB service area; which includes the Forest Lake School District #831, and all of Chisago County; be a positive role model for youth, break down barriers between youth and adults, and provide enthusiastic leadership and service to youth above and beyond regular job duties. A connection to the YSB is preferred, but not required. Nominees for the youth award must be in grades 9 - 12.

Nomination forms may be picked up at the Youth Service Bureauís Forest Lake office, Youth Service Bureauís North Branch office, Forest Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the North Branch Chamber of Commerce. The forms are also available on the YSB Web site www.ysblakesarea.org.
