Gymnasts topple Princeton

Alyssa Houle and Kelsey Lloyd provided a 1-2 punch in all but one event on Jan. 4 as the Vikings defeated Princeton121.675-117.375 at home.

Houle and Lloyd placed first and second in vault, uneven bars and floor exercise and second and third, respectively, in the balance beam. They also placed first and second all-around, with Houle scoring 33.475 and Lloyd 31.4. Aileen Shanley earned 4th place all-around.

Meanwhile, the Princeton junior varsity bested North Branch by a score of 61.7 to 58.4.
Individual varsity scores of the top five places in each event were (P denotes Princeton):
Vault: 1. Houle 8.25; 2. Lloyd 8.0; 3. Emily Olson (P) 7.9; 4. Kim Witzman (P) 7.65; 5. Shayna Bauer 7.55.
Uneven bars: 1. Houle 8.5; 2. Lloyd 7.55; 3. Witzman 7.55; 4. Emily Olson 7.35; Sam Olson (P) 7.0.
Balance beam: 1. Emily Dehn (P) 8.375; 2. Houle 7.75; 3. Lloyd 7.5; 4. Bauer 7.4; 5. E. Olson 7.2.
Floor exercise: 1. Houle 8.975; 2. Lloyd 8.35; 3. E. Olson 7.95; 4.Aileen Shanley 7.9; 5. Dehn 7.55.
All-around: 1. Houle 33.475; 2. Lloyd 31.4; 3. E. Olson 30.4; 4. Shanley 28.9; 5. Witzman 28.65.
