Ý Robert Arthur Hecht, age 79 of Pine City, Minn., passed away Jan. 9, 2005 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Rush City, Minn.
Bob was born on May 11, 1925Ýin Stillwater, Minn. to Henry and Amanda (Wickelman) Hecht.Ý
BobÝwas employed at Capital Gears in the Twin Cities as a machinist. He loved farming and enjoyed working in the outdoors. Bob liked to play the harmonica and continued to do so as a life long hobby, often entertaining the residents at Hillcrest Health Care Center. His other hobbies included fishingÝand spending time with his large family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Amanda Hecht; his son Robert Wayne Hecht; two granddaughters, Rachael Boyer and Amy Hecht; and his sister Helen Goiffon.
Bob Hecht is survived by his children Barbara (David) Boyer of Stacy, Minn., Alan (Linda) Hecht of Pine City, James (Hydie) Hecht of Greeley, Minn., Charles (Cindy) Hecht of Brook Park, Minn., Sandy (Paul) Nelson of Bemidji, Minn., Tom Hecht of Pine City, Ben Hecht of Hinckley, Minn., Connie (Dennis) Swensrud of Rush City, Terry (Sheila) Hecht of Greeley, Ted (Theresa) Hecht of Pine City, Julie Hecht of Pine City, and Missy Schultz of St. Cloud, Minn.; his grandchildren Jeremy Boyer, Jesse Hecht, Jocelyn Hecht, Joshua Hecht, Joe Hecht, Charles Hecht, Corey Hecht, Shivan Nelson, Erica Nelson, Michelle Hecht, Richard Huhta, Christopher Huhta, Ryan Swensrud, Dustin Hecht, Jamie Hecht, Jennae Lande, Andrew Lande, Jordan Hecht, Chantal Hecht, Kevin Horak, Colton Hecht, Brittany Prokott, Delantae, Isaiah; seven great-grandchildren; brother Donald (Mary Ann) Hecht of Cumberland, Wisc.; brother-in-law Cedric Goiffon of Forest Lake, Minn.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 14, at the United Methodist Church of Pine City with Pastor Kathy Huneywell officiating. Jody Karas and Kristi Mankie provided music. The active pallbearers were Jeremy Boyer, Joshua Hecht, Joe Hecht, Jesse Hecht, Charles Hecht and Corey Hecht with the interment taking place in the spring of 2005.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Funeral & Cremation Service of Pine City ìSwanson Chapel.î
