The Minnesota State Auctioneers Association held its 56th annual conference and show at the St. Cloud Civic Center Jan. 13, 14 & 15.
Attending from the local area was Col. L ìBobî Vande Kamp and Lee Ann Vande Kamp of Vande Kamp Auction Group, Almelund, MN members in good standing of the association.
Vande Kamp Auction Group received recognition with a marketing award. History was made during the convention in the Champion Auctioneer contest when three women placed in the five finalist positions.
Lee Ann Vande Kamp received the reserve champion trophy and will be representing Minnesota at the International Auctioneers Contest in Pittsburgh during the National Auctioneers Conference and Show in July. Kaija Kokesh (Palisade, MN) of Reinhardt Auction service was selected champion. In addition Samantha Ediger Johnson (Arlington, MN) was selected as Rookie Auctioneer. Seminars included fair housing, agency, disclosure, technical, legislative, motivational and real estate at auction.
Other events at the conference included the Minnesota Champion Auctioneer contest, Rookie and Junior Auction contests, Fun Auction, Advertising and Marketing contests, recognition and Presidentís Banquets and the newest inductee into the Hall of Fame.
Scholarship Awards and Auxiliary events were also held during the conference and show.
The annual Conference and Show is held in a different location in Minnesota each year. Programs and events are directed toward professionalism, creativity and greater skill for the progressively minded auctioneer.
