Responding to a citizen petition presented to the Chisago County Board in December, Commissioner Ben Montzka brought a resolution to the board table Tuesday that would request Polaris to keep County Road 84 open, either temporarily or permanently. A portion of the road has been closed off to give Polaris Industries privacy at its new research facility.
Montzkaís resolution would request that Polaris, on a temporary basis, consider keeping CR 84 open until the property is actually used for confidential research purposes and on a permanent basis, keep it open assuming that appropriate safeguards can be put in place to protect Polarisí research.
Montzka said the county should really consider condemning the property and keep the road open. He was told he could have his resolution placed on an agenda later this month.
