Dusty Goodroad, 7, asked Santa for a rabbit this Christmas.

Santa replied to Goodroad that while he could not provide a rabbit for him, Goodroad would have the opportunity to be the ìofficial helperî at North Branch Pet & Supply, Plus. So Goodroad made his way into the pet store Wednesday, Dec. 30, and helped owner Pamela Fritz with customer service and the feeding and care of the storeís variety of pets, including a tortoise named Shelly, and the Chinchilla that Goodroad is holding in the picture above.

Goodroad said holding and petting the animals was one of the most enjoyable aspects of his time at the store.
