Groundbreaking took place last Thursday for the new Rush City Senior Housing and community center. Wielding shovels are: (l to r) County Commissioners Mike Robinson, Lynn Schultz, Bob Gustafson, former HRA chairman Jim Ertz, Rush City councilman Mick Louzek, Milcon, Inc. project managers Larry Stein and Josh Kopp, RC senior dining coordinator Margit Hedberg and Chris Eng, director of Chisago County HRA-EDA. The Chisago County Board of Commissioners, through the county HRA-EDA, accepted the low bid of Northland Securities last week for $1,090,000 Gross Revenue Bonds to help build the new housing. Rush City also received a $500,000 small cities grant for the project. The building is expected to be ready for occupancy in Spring 2006.
