A special event one week before this picture was taken provided an opportunity for five generations of a family, on both sides, to gather at Golden Horizons Assisted Living facility in Pine City last Thursday. The event ñ the birth of Zachary Robert Nelson who took all the picture taking calmly in his mother's arms.
She is Melissa Nelson, great-granddaughter of Irene Shinler, 90, left front, and Helen Chalupnik, 94, right front. Other generations include LeRoy Shinler, son of Irene, Cecilia Shinler, right back, daughter of Helen, and Linda Goebel, center back, granddaughter of the two matriarchs. Helen and Irene live in Pine City. LeRoy and Cecilia live in Rush City, Linda lives in Blaine and Melissa and Zack live in Centerville.
