TO THE EDITOR:
Seems like some of the people feel the same way about our elected state officials from our districts. I wrote a letter to Rep. Pete Nelson some time ago. To this day Iíve yet to receive any response from Rep. Pete Nelson, then again, thatís another story.
Many years ago, my dad was acquainted with some friends in politics. Rep. Nelson, maybe Iím wrong, should have voted yes on the transportation bill. My dadís friends always said something to the effect by voting yes on the bill even though the Gov. had stated he would veto the bill if it got to his desk, you could almost always come out looking good in the politics of government. Think it over Rep. Nelson, you win a few, and you lose a few, just so you can convince enough people to re-elect you and send you back to your government job and all your perks, etc. that we as citizens pay with our taxes, oops, p/c now ěfees.î
This is really not to be included, the Govís proposed flight to Camp Ripley on budget talks, if the proposed ěescape from St. Paulî to Ripley happens, I sure would like to know and make them pay all the cost out of their own pockets, chow, quarters, staff cars, if any, the whole ě9 yards,î even the Govís security officers etc.
If you canít get it done at the Capitol, turn in your paychecks, resign without any pensions, etc, and look for another job.
P.S. and not be able to take cost off taxes if if I remember, their per diem is considered part of the retirement wages, tax free and then again in retirement pay etc. ěTheyî sure have it all figured out.
