North Branch Police Officer Tim Olson, working with Rob Sanvig of American Family Insurance, has put together ìPedal with the Police,î a biking event designed to promote fitness and provide an opportunity for community members to get to know the department and its officers on a more personal basis.
Officer Olson will meet with the riders at the beginning of the Sunrise Prairie Bike Trail in North Branch, which is just south of Hwy. 95 on CR-30. Participants will ride to CR-19 and back.
Riders should meet at the Sunrise Prairie Trail at 9:30 a.m. July 23 for registration. The ride will begin at 10 a.m., rain or shine.
Free t-shirts, provided by Sanvigís agency, will be given to those who register and contribute a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.
Cool Beanz will provide coffee at the time of registration. Following the bike ride, hot dogs, pop and ice cream will be served. The North Branch senior citizen organization, TRIAD, will assist with the food and registration.
At the conclusion of Pedal with the Police, prizes will be awarded, so be sure to register. In addition to several smaller prizes, a drawing for two childrenís bicycles will also be held.
