The new ěFriends of the Sunrise Riverî citizensí group startup meeting was attended by 20 interested citizens. They talked about the riverís water quality over the years, discussed possible reasons for its lesser quality now and possible actions a citizensí group could take to keep or improve the quality. They still need to decide how to organize the group and provide some kind of budget for future events or projects.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 23 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with potluck to follow at Kost Dam Park in Chisago County.
