Tire slashing crime rises

There were three separate incidents of car tires either slashed or the air let out over the July 4 holiday weekend.

The first one was reported at 7:36 a.m. on July 4 at the 6400 block of Birch Street. A woman reported to police that the air had been let out of her car tires, as well as the tires of four other vehicles.

The second tire-slashing incident was reported at 11 a.m. July 4 at the 6000 block of Elm Street.

The third was reported at 3:20 p.m. July 4 at the 7600 block of 393rd Street. A womanís car tires were all slashed while she was out of town.

According to the North Branch Police Department, there is no evidence the incidents are related.
