Russell W. Olson, age 78 of Stark, Minn., died on June 14, 2005.
Russell was born on June 11, 1927 in Olivia, Minn. to William A. and Esther H. (Anderson) Olson.
Russell was self educated and received his high school diploma in 1965. He served in the Navy during WWII. Russell worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for over 50 years.
Russell enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doris Anderson.
He is survived by son Michael, two daughters, Sharon Owen and Patrice Welsh; five grandchildren: Ursula Poolan, Daniel and Nicole Welsh, Kristin Solheim and Freedom Olson; two great-grandchildren Mahpiya and David Lodge and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
