The Ray Griffith Memorial Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 18 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Falcon Ridge Golf Course in Stacy.
This will be the fourth year the tournament has provided a $750 scholarship to a North Branch High School golfer in memory of Ray Griffith, an avid golfer and North Branch businessman who was active in many community organizations and activities. He died in 2001.
The scholarship is awarded to a graduating member of the NBHS boys' or girls' golf team. Last year's winner was Hannah Lindberg. Lindberg is completing her freshman year at South Dakota State University in Brookings and will be entering the college of pharmacy next fall. The first year of the tournament drew just a dozen golfers, but last year the official count was 60. The target this year is to get 72 or more golfers participating.
Entry fee of $75 includes golf, golf cart, food, prizes and entry fee in the hole-in-one contest.
