TO THE EDITOR:
Kudos to Rick Lofboom, Teacher of the Year! As the 6/1/05 Post Review indicated, Mr. Lofboom has been an educator in North Branch for 28 years. Prior to that, he taught 5th grade at Lincoln Elementary in White Bear Lake in 1972, and he was my first MALE teacher. I was terrified! MEN werenít supposed to be teachers! However, my fear vanished once I entered his classroom and he made all of us feel right at home. I can honestly say that he was my favorite teacher.
Imagine my delight that when MY kids entered the 6th grade at North Branch Middle School, they had the honor of being taught by the very same Mr. Lofboom!
As I approach my 25 year high school class reunion this fall, I know that many of my (elementary school) classmates agree that Mr. Lofboom ranks as one of their favorite teachers.Ý
Congratulations on a job well done and a well deserved retirement! Youíve expanded the minds of countless children and provided a strong base for the future leaders of tomorrow. We extend our deepest thanks and we wish you all the best in the future!
