According to Lance Lindeman, business representative for Local 113 (Green Acres Country Care Center employees), there will be a meeting between the union and Ecumen today, March 16, at the federal mediation and conciliation service office in Minneapolis to try to come to an agreement that the union members can ratify.
On Feb. 24, the union members at Green Acres voted to authorize a strike as they seek wage increases, increase in health insurance and assurance that they will have jobs in the new nursing home once it is built.
Their vote allows them to strike at any time with a 10-day notice of intent to strike.
The GACCC union members have been working without a contract since last July.
