Armed Forces Day is May 21. This year it will be a Blue Star Banner Salute in North Branch. The American Legion family of North Branch, in an effort to bring together veterans and families of active duty military personnel, will sponsor the event.

Veterans, families of active duty military personnel and those military personnel who might be at home on leave are invited to come for coffee, lemonade and doughnuts at the American Legion Hall Saturday, May 21. Coffee will be served from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be a short program at 1 p.m., when appreciation certificates will be presented to North Branch city churches, the local newspaper and a Girl Scout troop for their prayers and support of our military personnel.

Blue Star Banners will also be available for those families who would like to have one to indicate their son or daughter, husband or wife is serving in the military.

The NB American Legion members say, ìShow those who care for us that we care for them. Join us in our special Armed Forces Day event.î
