The Viking boys' golf team defeated St. Michael-Albertville and Foley in conference play Apr. 28 and May 4, and competed in the Mora Best Ball Scramble and the Purple Hawk Invitational Apr. 29 and May 2.
The team defeated STMA 161-179 behind Brad Peters' 36. Bryan Peters shot 41, followed by Tony Beaver, Jake Lane and Travis Peterson at 42.
The Vikings shot 159 against Foley's 166, led again by Brad Peters at 38. Bryan Peters shot 39, followed by Greg Moriarity at 40, Beaver at 42, Josh Hampton 44 and Peterson 46.
Fourteen schools participated in the Mora tourney, and the Vikings placed third with a team score of 139. Chisago Lakes placed first with 123 points, followed by Mora with 129.
The Purple Hawk Invitational drew 21 teams. Chisago Lakes placed first with 305 points, and the Vikings landed at 15th with 352 points.
