First State Bank of RC to be renamed ëUnity Bank Eastí

Posted: 5/11/05

Robert A. Berg, president of First State Bank of Rush City announced that the bank will officially become Unity Bank East on June 1, 2005.

ěThis is an exciting change for our bank,î said Berg. ěThe Unity Bank name reflects a strategy for bringing together better banking for our customers and for a closer alliance with our four bank affiliates.

Unity Bank East is among five banks with common ownership. These banks are headquartered in Staples, Red Lake Falls, Crosby and Rush City, Minn., plus Augusta, Wisc. In total, the banks have offices in 11 communities.

ěIt is not a coincidence that the last word in ëcommunityí is ëunity,íî added Berg.
Berg emphasized that the banks have not changed ownership. ěWe are the same bank with the same staff and the same commitment to responsive personal help. Only our name has changed.î

The name change coincides with improvements at Unity Bank. Among the new services that will be available are internet banking, image statements, overdraft privilege, a family banking package, and a fun educational kidís savings program.

Unity Bank East has been serving customers since 1882, and has total assets of approximately $50,000,000.00.
