TO THE EDITOR:
It is always enjoyable to go back into time and flip through class yearbooks and reminisce about old friends, good times, and how things used to be.
Unfortunately, I cannot flip through my senior class yearbook since I no longer have it. It was the only yearbook I had from my high school days.
Back in June of 1981, the last week of school consumed us of the anticipation of graduation and, of course, the ritual of signing class yearbooks. One day, after most of my friends had signed my yearbook, I put it in my locker until I needed it for signing again later. When I went back to my locker to fetch my yearbook, I was shocked to find that it was missing. It somehow vanished from my locker. What a horrible, sick feeling I had. I searched everywhere and asked everyone if they had seen it. No such luck. I even tried to buy another one, but they were all sold out. That yearbook was gone forever, along with the memories and good wishes from all of my friends and teachers.
My 25th class reunion is sneaking up on me, and again, with every high school reunion, that awful memory of losing my only high school yearbook, floods back to me.
So, it finally occurred to me that I should write in, tell my story, and hope that maybe, just by chance, that someone out there knows where my yearbook is and can get it back to me. I donít care if that person took it, found it or knows where it is. All I care about is getting it back. No questions asked. I am pretty sure I wrote my name inside the cover, but even if it isnít there, most of the signatures are to: ěLori.î
If anyone has happened to come across this yearbook, please find it in your heart to return it by dropping it off at any of the surrounding publishing companies associated with this paper. Just be sure to put it to my attention: ěLori Richertî or ěLori Proulxî (my maiden name). You can be anonymous.
