Firefighters had some difficulty getting access to a fire in North Branch Saturday afternoon.

According to the North Branch Police Department, a fire in a grassy area behind homes on Glacier Avenue was caused by five juveniles playing in the area.

Officer Todd Frank said it is not known which youth actually started it, but all five are involved. They are all under 14. The case is being referred to the Chisago County Attorney.

Besides the NB Fire Department, the Stacy-Lent department joined the fire fighting effort. Thick smoke caused area residents to be concerned, including shoppers at Tanger Outlet Center. A strong wind was blowing in a northwesterly direction.
