Esther M. White passed away peaceful at her home in North Branch, Minn. on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last January.
Esther was born on Dec. 22, 1918 at Mosinee, Wisc. to Alfred and Hattie (Schreiber) Schilling. In 1934 she was married to Anton Fischer of Marathon, Wisc. and in 1945 she married Herman White of Minneapolis, Minn. She had six children in each marriage. Esther has lived in the North Branch area for sixty years.
In addition to raising her family, Esther worked 25 years as a nurseís aide and psychiatric technician at the Lake Owasso and Cambridge State Hospitals.
She enjoyed visiting with her family, gardening, fishing, feeding birds, traveling, and Christmas. She was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church at Stacy, Minn.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Gehardt Schilling, Sylvia Fredrick, Helen Wolfgram, Walter Schilling, Dorothy (Hack) Tichna, and Anne Christiansen; husbands tony Fischer and Herman White, St.; son Vernon; son-in-law Jeff Swenson; grandson Michael Hischer; great-grandsons Matthew Hischer, Gannon Marohn and Kory Marohn.
She is survived by children (and their spouses): Melvin (Carolyn) White, Joyce (DeWaine) Hischer, Marlene (Jerry) Marohn, Donna (Russ) Wenell, Anthony ìButchî (Sandy) Fischer, Herman (Sharon) White, Jr., Harold (Linda) White, Ilene (roger) Else, Mary (Doug) Swanson, Jean (Dennis Miron) White, and Janet Swenson; 38 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Edward Wheatley officiating at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Stacy. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in North Branch. Memorial preferred to St. Johnís Lutheran Church.
