Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch hosted the Red Cross Bloodmobile on Oct. 21. 54 pints of blood were collected. There were five first-time donors: Robert Ferrier, Randal Johnson, Forrest Lamson, Michelle Wagenknecht, and Amy Johnson.

As a greeter, it is always great to see the repeat donors come back each time but it is equally important that we see first time donors and hope they will make it a point to return again and again. It is indeed wonderful to see Donald Cardinalís record of 159 pints and Waldemar Trulson at 97. This shows how serious they are about being blood donors.

Others who are on their way up: James Nagle Jr has given 4 gallons, Roger Olson has given 3 gallons and Perry Hulst and Christopher Manning have given 2 gallons. We have three who have given 1 gallon, (8 pints) : Ron Erickson, James Hartel, and Gerald Van Reese. Each and every pint of blood Ýhas the potential to save three lives.

Whether you have given one pint or several more,Ýwe need to recognize how important it is to give blood and make it a point in our busy lives to be a regular blood donor. Others depend on us to meet the demand.

The next scheduled Blood Mobile in North Branch is Jan. 26 for the ìOî drive. The location has not been decided, watch the newspapers for an announcement.
