Rush City's boys varsity placed 8th with 232 points and the girls 10th with 286 at the Amery Invitational cross country meet on Oct. 4.
Twenty teams competed in the boys division and 16 in the girls.
Frederic won the boys' division with 69 points. New Richmond was the girls' team winner with 50 points.
Junior Josh Dahl finished 15th out of 196 runners, while Laura Hestbeck continued her strong season with a 20th place finish out of 155 runners.
Coach Kevin Smith noted that, though the team ran well, a few seconds per mile in pace cost them 15 to 20 places in race finish.
"We will continue to try and run very close to our teammates to minimize the team score," Smith said.
