Chisago County Commissioner Ben Montzka, who represents Stacy, Wyoming and Wyoming township, was recently named a member of the National Association of Countiesí (NACo) Public Safety Steering Committee.

NACoís 11 steering committees form the policy-making arm of the association. Each committee is comprised of approximately 60-100 county officials who meet several times during the year to examine critical issues affecting local government.

The steering committeesí recommendations on legislative policies and goals are presented to NACoís membership during the associationís annual conference.
If approved, the recommendations become part of the American County Platform.

NACo is the only national organization representing county government in the country.
