North Branch cross country runners put on a stellar show at the Chisago Lakes Invitational on Sept. 27 and the Swain invitational in Duluth on Oct. 1, earning numerous top finishes in both individual and team competitions.
Nick Ramberg, Haley Hasleiet, and Liz Walters all won first place in the varsity boys, varsity girls and 8th grade girls divisions, respectively, at Chisago Lakes. The 8th grade girls' race was all North Branch, with Karissa Richard, Onalee Yousey, and Samantha Zuehlke placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th behind Walters. In the girls varsity, Miranda Charley finished in 2nd behind Hasleiet.
In team competition, 8th grade girls, girls varsity, boys varsity, boys JV and 7th grade girls all placed first.
Notable individual performances at the Swain meet came from:
Sophomore Ryan Norman, Cory Crowell and Boyd Suparat, 7th, 14th and 15th respectively out of 135 runners; Ramberg, 14th among 179; Tiffany Peterson, 8th out of 106; Briana Berthiaume, 12th of 106; Hasleiet, Charley, Ali Zimmerman and Shayna Gray, 2nd, 4th, 7th and 8th respectively out of 91 runners.

8th grade girls: Walters 12:11; Richard 12:34; Yousey 12:38; Zuehlke 12:53.
