The Harris Park Board has been making additions to the School House Park. With the help of Bauerly Brothers, the park has a new piece of playground equipment. It is a school bus that the kids can play on.

The bus is set on springs which have four feet of footings.

Bauerly Brothers was able to fund this through their ěPartners for Parksî program, which is funded through their Foundation, MDU Recourses. Bauerly Brothers contributes 5 percent of their profit to this fund. It is used for creating green space in the communities that they service.

The Park Board also has a recent addition of a tire swing that the city paid for. These two additions join the other activities that are available for use. These consist of a Tennis court, picnic tables, covered picnic shelter, and Volley Ball Court.

The white shed (behind the bus) at the park is used for storage. It is called the Harris City Jail, because it used to be. It was originally moved to Harris in the 1800s to be used as the jail. When it no longer was used for its original purpose, it was moved to the park. It is constructed of 2x4ís laid on their side and has two layers of 2-inch oak as a floor. There are two cells and a place for a small wood stove.
