Sheila Ann Mitchell

Sheila Ann Mitchell, of Rush City, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at St. Johnís Hospital in Maplewood, Minn.

Sheila was born at Midway Hospital in St. Paul Minn. May 13, 1939. Sheila was the oldest of 11 children and attended St. Columbus parochial school in St. Paul. Sheila graduated from Wilson High School in 1957 where she was involved with the school newspaper.

After high school Sheila worked at Univac, Sanitary Milk, and Montgomery Wards.

Sheila and Frank Mitchell were married on Jan. 31, 1962 in St. Paul and she spent some time in California while Frank was in the Navy. After the service, Sheila and Frank returned to the Twin Cities where they eventually settled on Van Buren Avenue in St. Paul. Sheila was the mother of three, Jeff, Joe, and Michelle and she loved and lived for her family.

After moving to Rush City in 1972 Sheila became involved with the PTA and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she taught Confirmation and Catechism classes. She also served on the Parish Council and as Church secretary. Sheila was involved with the Eagles Auxiliary and was President in 1977.Ý

Sheila is survived by her husband: Frank, children: Jeffrey Mitchell (Mike Jeffrey) of Harrisburg, PA., Joe (Gina) Mitchell of Rush City, Michelle (Berkley) Sisson of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Joey, Jesse and Jordan Mitchell, Berkley and Mitchell Sisson, brothers and sisters: Pat (Merlyn) Nelson of Scandia, Dee Sommers of St. Paul, Jim (Leslie) Neary of Randolph, John (Noreen) Neary of Bellingham, Mass, Tom (Joy) Neary of Circle Pines, Kathy (Cliff) Beavers of Hopkington, Mass, Helen (Larry) Amsden of North St. Paul, Dennis Neary of St. Paul, Debbie Vorwerk of Motley and many nieces and nephews.

Sheila is also survived by mother-in-law: Mary Mitchell, sister-in-law: Susan Doerr both of Rush City.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents James and Marion (Kauffman) Neary; An Infant son; brother Kevin Neary and Brother-in-law Bill Mitchell.

Fr. Xavier Thelakkatt will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Sheila Mitchell; 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City. A time of visitation and reviewal is scheduled for Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Olson Chapel with a prayer service at 8 p.m. and visitation and reviewal one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church.Ý

Sheila Mitchell will be interred in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn..
