Plans are underway for the 2006 Chisago County Fair grand parade in July.

There are changes in store, but it is still expected to be a great afternoon of entertainment.

New this year - the day and time. The parade is set for 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15, same location (in downtown Rush City) and same route (starting at the industrial park and ending at the fairgrounds).

Some very special attractions are being scheduled including a popular icon as grand marshal.

Your help is needed to ensure a super parade, either by helping to finance participating units or by entering a unit.

Following is some information about participation and sponsorship:

ï there is no charge for non-profit units, but you do need to register;

ï business or commercial entries are $35;

ï commercial or political units distributing handouts are $70 (material or advertising with no monetary value);

ï fees double without pre-registration;

ï parade lineup at 2 p.m.

The Rush City Area Chamber is spearheading the parade scheduling with the help of the North Branch and Chisago Lakes Chambers.

Checks for registration should be mailed to: North Branch Area Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 577, North Branch, MN 55056. A registration form can be downloaded from the NB Chamber Web site nbchamber@sherbtel.net or picked up at the NB Chamber office.
