A North Branch boy died last Sunday, Aug. 6, having drowned at the Lake Elmo Park Preserve. Xing Pao Lee, 12, of North Branch, was the second victim pulled from the water that evening, just after 7 p.m.

A first victim, 11-year-old St. Paul resident Washiseng Yang, was a cousin of Lee.
CPR was performed on both boys on location and before they were transferred to Gillette Childrenís Hospital. Lee died there later that night. His cousin was admitted in critical condition but also died Tuesday.

Lee was a student at North Branch Middle School.
