Amy Anderson, M.D., a family medicine physician, will begin seeing patients in the Fairview Chisago Lakes Clinic, 11725 Stinson Ave., Chisago City, on Aug.28.

Dr. Anderson enjoys all aspects of family medicine from birth to old age, and takes a special interest in womenís and childrenís health, and caring for those with chronic disease. Dr. Anderson adds that she enjoys helping patients understand what it means to have a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Anderson graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, majoring in biochemistry/molecular biology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Duluth/Minneapolis and St. Paul. She completed her residency at the University of Minnesota Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, where she practiced at Smileyís Clinic.

Dr. Anderson says that she loves living and working in the same community, and believes it helps her get to know her patients on a more personal level. ìWhen I know whatís going on with the entire family, I can do a better job of caring for them,î she says.
