TO THE EDITOR:

As you begin to notice the campaign election signs starting to show up in the yards and businesses locally, Iíd like to call your attention to the yellow and blue signs proclaiming: ëJanet Reiter for Chisago County Attorney.í

For the first time ever, I have become involved in a political campaign and have even signed up to have a political sign placed in my yard because I believe Janet Reiter is the best candidate for Chisago County Attorney.

This belief is based on my prior experience as a Chisago County Child Protection Social Worker. I worked in the Chisago County Child Protection Unit from October 1994 to June 2005. During those years, I was fortunate enough to work with Janet Reiter when she was an Assistant Chisago County Attorney. I saw her dedication, her capacity for meticulous hard work and her compassion for children and families. Janet worked with the Child Protection workers to make certain we were a team of dedicated and expert legal witnesses. As a Child Protection unit, we knew we could rely on Janet and we never worried about her performance when she was presenting our cases to the judge. For Janet, the bottom line was to correctly use the legal systemís rules and regulations to ensure the safety of children with the least amount of disruption to a family unit.

As the summer weeks dwindle and we move toward fall, keep in mind that the Primary elections on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 will be a run-off between the three Chisago County Attorney candidates to see which two will run against each other in November. Please vote Janet Reiter for Chisago County Attorney. Send her to the November elections where hopefully she will become the next Chisago County Attorney. My experience working with her shows that she will be a dedicated and hard working asset to our county.
